Ross Ulbricht is the founder of the dark web marketplace Silk Road. In 2013, he was arrested at a library in San Francisco. After a trial, he was sentenced to double life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for 40 years, on charges including drug trafficking, money laundering, and computer intrusion. On January 22, 2025, Ulbricht received a full and unconditional pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump.
