JUNO is a Layer-1, Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain built with the Cosmos SDK. It serves as a cross-chain smart contract Hub for the Cosmos Ecosystem, allowing anyone to create and use inter-chain applications. The ecosystem is pioneering CosmWasm development and adoption, enabling developers to deploy secure and robust inter-chain smart contracts in Rust. The Juno PoS blockchain uses the Tendermint Consensus to reach network agreement. It is governed by delegators who vote for changes through on-chain governance.
